Physical Attributes

They say opposites attract, which is most certainly true with Eve and Tye.  She was very unusual, having deep blue eyes and two tails.  Though not as delicate looking as Tye, she wasn't particularly strong either, so she used mostly special attacks to face her opponents.  However, she had good all-around defense, so she was able to function better than he was.  In a battle, she was the more offensive character, but still relied on Tye to back her up defensively.

History

"They say heroes aren't born, they're made."

Eve's parents, a male Jolteon and a female Quilava, had recently evolved in order to protect their unborn child, who was carefully hidden inside their camp.  This didn't save them though; an insane Pokemon invaded their home, looking for food and wanting to get rid of any competition.  Her father gave her life to save her.  Grief-stricken, her mother abandoned the new-born Eevee the minute she hatched, upon seeing that Eve had obtained her father's eyes and two tails.  However, as a parting gift, she left the bow for her child.  Eve never knew anything else about her family's history, but it was more than some Pokemon ever got.  She learned it from the surrounding sane Pokemon... those who cared for her in turns up until the point that she was 7, where they thought she could handle herself.  They knew her mother, but never really liked to talk about her, or her father.  As a result, she eventually stopped asking.

They cared for her only out of pity.  They didn't even give her a name; they called her Eevee, or Eve for short.  It was obvious that they didn't actually care for the young Pokemon.   The lack of personal care for the young Pokemon created a more distanced, tomboyish Eevee than what might have existed otherwise.  It taught her not a sort of apathy, not caring about others's feelings or desires, and not so much about her own either.  Though it was harsh and not the way a Pokemon should be raised, it was what helped her to survive.  Because she was driven out at an age that many Pokemon were considered able to care for themselves.  She was expected to be able to survive.  The only reason she did was probably because she was forced to become independent and wasn't really sheltered from the world from the beginning, and taught apathy towards other Pokemon.  She knew how imperfect the world was, but more than anything, she wanted to live, so she did.

She was a quick learner, and by remembering how the Pokemon around her survived, she learned how to take care of herself by relying on her own instincts and experience.  As she traveled, looking for food and shelter, she saw more and more places.  Although not pretty by our standards, a Pokemon previously used to gray forests found them interesting, and this drove her to keep traveling.  She started seeing more and more dangerous places, liking seeing new things and a good challenge.  After ten years on her own, she heard of the Valley of Spirits.  Tales of hostile tribes and relentless rogues only drew her closer, and as such it became her next - and last - destination.

"But the world doesn't have heroes.  It has survivors."

In truth, nothing could have prepared Eve for the valley.  She had been given the short end of the stick, but kept pressing on bravely, and even then the wild and twisted place had proven too much for her.  It seemed to be easier getting in than out, making it difficult for Eve to remember her priority: survival.  She was in Elusive Forest, one of the Shadow Elites' home dungeons, when one, an Umbreon named Davis (same one that would later kill Tye in many years time) attacked her without mercy.  Though a few years younger, he was much more vicious and experienced than she was, and she quickly found herself overwhelmed by the Dark-type's power.  She was near death when she passed out.  Unknown to her, a Raichu named Amber had found her when Davis was dragging her away.  The mouse defeated him, treated Eve with some makeshift bandages, and took her back to her own camp.

When she finally regained consciousness, she found a strange Skitty lying beside her, who immediately had a wealth of questions.  Finding it odd but amusing, she laughed and answered them without a second thought.  She soon learned that the Umbreon would have killed her, if not for Amber chasing him off and rescuing Eve.  She was severely injured, and Amber had saved her life.  Eve found herself confused; why would the Raichu save a complete stranger, especially when she might be killed too? The father Delcatty William seemed to be asking the same question.  Eve was unaffected by his hostile behavior, she was used to it.  It wasn't the first time that someone didn't trust her.  She was more interested in Amber, and the family as a whole.  She'd never seen such a family before.  They were concerned with their son more than anything, ruthlessly driving off any enemy Pokemon, risking their lives to feed him, and spending all the rest of their time doing whatever he wanted them to as long as he stayed in their camp.

She saw a sort of horror in this family setup though.  Tye was sheltered from the outside world.  Even when the family changed their camp, they did it when he was sleeping.  Hiding him from the truth didn't do any good, because they wouldn't be around to protect him forever.  Whenever she tried to tell him about it when they weren't looking, though, he wouldn't believe her... the stories were scary and he didn't want to think that they were real.  Eventually, Eve gave up... she realized she wasn't helping, and knew that in the long run, Tye would eventually find out for himself.

Tye and Eve were quick to form a relationship.  Tye was a hopeful little Skitty, who always dreamed of having adventures and learning about the legends that his parents told him about the valley.  He wanted to explore every corner of his homeland, just like his parents did.  Through these stories and dreams, the two Normal-types made a connection.  Eve loved the same thing Tye did, and eventually she began to wish for the same thing.  More so, she began to really enjoy Tye's company while she was recovering, and as she began to get better they did play a little as well.

It seemed like their friendship was short lived... Eve didn't like staying in one place for long, and to be honest she wasn't quite used to a family group either.  As soon as she was well enough to travel, she planned to set out to leave the valley.  She offered to let Tye come, but he refused, and instead begged her to stay.  Being somewhat stubborn, she disagreed.  She thanked the family, and went on her way, not even looking back.

That is, until she heard terrified screams from behind her.

"Survivors are both born and made."

She wanted to ignore it.  Pretend she didn't hear the screams, and go on with her life as she'd always done.  But she just couldn't do it.  It wasn't until she heard the cries of William and Amber that she realized something.  Amber hadn't let her die.  She owed a debt to the family, and she was going to repay it.  She wasn't as selfish as she was before she came to the valley, so she turned around at full speed.  When she reached the camp, she saw three Shadow Elites, including the Umbreon that had attacked her before.  She was able to save Tye, but she knew that they would have to to flee.  It took a tug on the tail to convince the Skitty, but both of them managed to escape the encounter without so much as a scratch.  This wouldn't be the last time they would encounter the Shadow Elites.  Taking shelter in a cave with only an opening large enough for small Pokemon to pass through, the two were protected from harm.

In the blink of an eye, Tye's life had been destroyed, but for Eve it was back to normal.  She felt an obligation to look after the Skitty, because of the hospitality his parents had shown her, and he was her only friend after all.  She didn't know exactly how he felt, being shown how harsh the world really was, but she realized that he would need to learn how to survive it if he was going to live.  She was an expert, so while she was the one doing all the work, she always had her friend go with her, so he could learn the ropes.  How to hide, find food, and any nifty tricks she'd learned over the years.  She also taught him how to fight, and the two of them became a good team.  She never realized it, but this is what helped Tye get over the death of his parents.

Eventually, they were able to talk like they used to.  Tye's dream had never died; in fact, the death of his parents had only made it stronger.  And Eve was still the curious, adventurous Eevee she'd always been.  This is what drove them to explore and chart the Valley of Spirits.  When they decided to have children later on, they not only told them of their parents' adventures, but they promised that, as a family, maybe they could all explore it again someday.  After all, Eve and Tye had hidden their documents in specific dungeons.  It would be a pity to just leave them there.  They even gave each of their kids a portion of the map, showing where their documents were hidden.

"If you're still moving, you were born to survive."
*Angel, Blaize*
"From there, it's all what you make of it."
*Tora, Sibling 3, Marina, Alei and Sibling 6*
"Once you accomplish that, your life is what you want it to be."
*Aki, Sorbett, Sibling 9*
"But then... you lose your footing."

This was the Planet's Paralysis.  The family had been very successful, but their luck was running out.  Some might even say they'd gotten so comfortable, they'd forgotten what the world was like.  On the day of the split, Eve was busy preparing for their new arrival.  She was almost relieved that they'd have a Skitty this time, but it was a child no less, and there was a lot to be done.  She didn't realize until Tye pointed it out that so many of their children were missing.  She was a little scared, but supposed it was nothing, and expected that Tye would bring them all back safely.  That's not what happened.

"You've forgotten where you stand, so you can't survive anymore."

They were gone.   Blaize, Tora, Sibling 3, Marina, Alei, Sibling 6... the minute Tye gave the news, she wasn't sure what to think... just the day before, they had a large and successful family.  Now, they were tiny... she finally knew how Tye felt the day his parents were killed.  There was the possibility that they were all alive, but she knew that a search would likely prove fruitless... She realized, she should at least be happy for the family they had left.  Aki had returned safely, there was still young Sorbett and Sibling 9, with a baby Skitty on the way.  All were relatively young, and it seemed like a good chance for a fresh start. After talking that night, the parents decided that they would head for the Valley of Spirits, the one place where their children might find them.  And so, when Tyler hatched, they quickly named him after Tye and set off.

Though it seemed like a good sentiment, fate did not smile on the crippled family.  Grief weighed heavily on them, affecting their judgement.  Tyler didn't quite get the same amount of care than his other siblings did, because the family was much more on the edge than they had been before, traveling without a real home.  It affected him, and he became much like Blaize... though she didn't realize this until they reached the valley and established a homestead, it made Eve smile... she expressed approval of her son.  The whole family would need to work together to survive.  Though they were never quite the same, things did get better.  Good enough, in fact, that another Skitty was born.  They thought he was a she at first, so gave her the name Danielle.  Once they realized, they started calling him Dani instead.

Things slowly started to improve for the family, and although half of them were missing, all the siblings lived on in stories told by their parents.  They almost became legendary figures... Blaize's stories were told when they were scared, Marina's when they were tired, Sibling 3's when they were discouraged, and Alei's when they needed comforting.  During this time, Eve and Tye left things behind for their missing children.  A letter to each child, with a map pointing to the location of their camp, so they could all be reunited one day.  Once that was done, the family settled down for the last time, focusing on teaching their children and spending as much time as they could together.

"You realize, we all die sometime."

It seemed like things could be the way they were before... but their time as a family was ending.  An old enemy had found them. The Shadow Elites attacked.  They remembered the two well, and had held a grudge all these years.  The family split, but in the chaos Eve didn't manage to make contact with her mate.  She gathered together Tyler, Dani, and Sibling 9 before bolting out of their camp.  Thinking quickly, she hid her three children under a bush before dashing towards her two pursuers.  She used her speed and energy to wear them out, until they decided to give up and retreated.  Eve led the Eevee and two Skitties back to camp, only to find Tye, Aki and Sorbett missing.  She searched briefly, but trying to hide her grief, she realized that she would have to care for her remaining three family members all by herself.  She remained strong for her kids, hoping that everything would be ok.

She wasn't completely alone... Tyler was able to help her at least a little, just like his big brother Blaize.  She was very grateful for this, and had no problem showing her pleasure to the small Skitty, even if his help was limited.  Despite their efforts, however, the group didn't fare well, and the end was very near.

"But then you remember who you're leaving behind."

Eventually, the Shadow Elites were able to track them down again.  Eve fought bravely and without hesitation.  The minute her enemies nabbed Dani, she fought even harder.  They could not, would not, take her children.  She wouldn't let them.  But there were too many, and she wasn't as strong as she used to be.  She'd grown so accustomed to Tye's help in battle that she didn't stand a chance.  Sibling 9 managed to escape, Tyler appeared dead, and on her last breath, just as her enemy's teeth left her windpipe, she saw them dragging her youngest son away...

"And you know... that you weren't ready after all."

Personality

Serious: Though she knew how to have fun, and enjoyed a laugh every now and then, Eve took everything seriously and didn't like to joke around too much.  The world is harsh and not acting on that fact could be fatal, from her point of view.  It's just another reason why leaving the playing and nurturing to Tye was a good idea.  Sometimes she definitely had a no-nonsense sort of attitude, especially in the face of danger.

Determined: She knew what she wanted, and she would do whatever it took to accomplish her goal, no matter what obstacles were in her way, ignoring what anybody else said about it.  She did not give in easily.

Responsible: She was even more responsible than Tye was.  She took her duties extremely seriously, even if it negatively affected those around her.  She showed this more through actions and decisions than through affection like Tye did.

Level-Headed: She was overall very calm, and wasn't quick to lose her nerve.  She also didn't get angry easily and had control over her emotions and actions.  This state of mind was often vital, because in the worst of situations while Tye was freaking out, she remained relaxed.

Logical: In a situation, Eve is often observant, and always thinking ahead.  She's concerned with the consequences, and if she can would rather work her way out of a situation than waste all of her energy fighting.

Spunky: Having a witty mouth and plenty of energy to spare was part of her personality.  Serious didn't mean that she was going to be boring, and always kept herself, those around her, and her enemies on their toes with quick reflexes and distracting them in both actions and words.

Impulsive: Although logical, she was quick to make decisions based off any information she gathered.  This had a bit of a bad affect on her, and she often relied on others to help her with her judgement.

Enthusiastic: She had a very eager, outgoing personality.  She was a driven character who always put her best foot forward.

Independent: Though later in life she relied more on Tye, she was still mostly a Pokemon who depended on herself to get things done, and never stopped relying on her own judgement and thoughts.  However, when the two were separated, it became clear that she wasn't nearly as independent as she used to be.

Pessimistic: Though she became more hopeful, having been raised on the edge means that she knew the reality of things.  She would not often assume that everything will be ok, because during the Planet's Paralysis, that just isn't what happened.  But she had just enough hope to keep herself going.

Stubborn: She had a very adamant nature.  Once she made up her mind, she wasn't going to change it easily.  She believed that she knew best and would hardly listen to anyone else's ideas except for Tye's.  He was the one Pokemon who knew how to get through to her.

Courageous: Eve didn't know the meaning of fear.  The only thing she was really afraid of was losing her family and dying.  But besides that, nothing would scare her off.

Loyal: Eve was fiercely loyal to her family, and would stand with them until the end, and do anything to keep them safe.  Her biggest pressure point was her family... she could go into a rage if they were in danger, and despite her tough demeanor, she wasn't immune to tears should something happen to any of them.  She nearly fell apart both times that her family split.

Resilient: Eve was the type who would never give up.  She was a survivor, and she would stay standing until the very end, which is exactly what she did.

Cocky: She wasn't vain, but she did have a high self esteem.  She was confident that she could do anything she set her mind to.  She liked herself, and was happy the way she was, but her overconfidence did tend to affect her judgement from time to time.

Stern: She did tend to be a bit of a strict parent, even to her more sensitive children, but she knew better than to actually insult those who were... she would only push her children as far as was necessary.  But for characters like Marina and Tora, she would be very harsh.

Leaderly: Some would say that she was a natural leader.  She was definitely the leading parent, with good judgement overall, but Tye played part as well.  She wasn't afraid to listen to him, even if she didn't always act on what he suggested.  Over time she came to realize that it was necessary to hear what other team members had to say, though she was still largely stubborn.

Apathetic: Even after meeting Tye, she was always a little oblivious or uncaring towards the feelings of others.  She's the type of parent who would tell you to toughen up, which was completely necessary at that time, but she did tend to take it a little too far.  She wasn't quick to pity someone.  Tye would usually help her see this though, so things were usually resolved.  She also tried not to reveal her sensitive feelings too much, but deep down, she did love her family very much.

Tough: Eve was always a tomboy, the type who believed in the value of hard work.  She was never one to back down because something was hard.  She loved a challenge.

Tye the Skitty

Paw Bullet (Pink) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Light Blue) - F2U!

"I may not show it as actively as you do, Tye, but you mean the world to me, and you always will.  Before I met you, I was very cold and selfish, only worried about my own needs and desires... that's the way most Pokemon are, even those not twisted by the darkness... but upon meeting you... and your parents... I changed.  I saw the importance of family, of kindness... things I never knew myself.  If it weren't for you, I never would have learned the best way to become a mother.  You made me a better Pokemon.  I don't know why fate wanted to tear us apart; we worked so well together.  Pokemon always said that we were too different, but it's true... you were my perfect partner.  I wouldn't ask for anyone else.  I'm not usually the emotional type but... without you I don't feel like myself.  It's unlikely, but I... I do hope that we'll be reunited someday."

Angel the Skitty

Paw Bullet (Purple) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Light Blue) - F2U!

"I have to admit, even I was happy when the possibility of your existence came... and even I was hurt when you didn't survive. Many tragic things happen in this world, but dying before even learning the difficulties of life in a timeless age is not something I ever expected.  But then I realized, perhaps that meant something.  Perhaps nature was showing mercy to someone who wasn't meant to survive.  Better to die now rather quickly than to suffer emotionally as well and physically later in life.  What hurt me most though was the effect it had on your father.  I think it was a lesson for us, and strengthened my resolve to be the best kind of mother, the kind that both protects and teaches her children just how bad the world can be."

Blaize the Flareon

Paw Bullet (Purple) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (White) - F2U!

"I've always been proud of you Blaize, and you've always been such an important part of this family.  Perhaps I took you for granted once or twice, but I also felt it was necessary to push you.  Having so many younger siblings to watch after was important.  It would show you the importance of family, and I hope one day you realize how lucky you were.  I never had that.  I suppose you didn't either... but you had us.  Of all my oldest children, you're the one I'm least worried about.  I have no doubt that you'll survive.  You're tough, like your mother.  Haha! But I do miss you.  I hope I can see you again someday.  After the second split, I... I often found myself thinking of you.  You were so brave... I need that.  And I can't help but see a piece of you in Tyler all the time.  It keeps me going."

Tora the Umbreon

Paw Bullet (Purple) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Brown) - F2U!

"What am I going to do with you, Tora? It seems I've tried everything to put you in your place, but nothing works.  Oh well... at least you won't die.  I'm sure you'll survive on your own. I'm not worried."

Marina the Vaporeon

Paw Bullet (Purple) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Brown) - F2U!

"The more I pushed, the worse you became.  But you were always pretty amusing, and I love you all the same.  I worry for you.  You're not very smart; you think everything is a game and you never know when enough is enough.  I have my doubts... hopefully you'll learn your lesson before death comes knocking at your door.  Even better, I hope you can find me before then."

Alei the Leafeon

Paw Bullet (Purple) - F2U!/Paw Bullet Zebra (Outline) - F2U!

"I have to admit, in your first year, you really agitated me.  If you weren't my own child I probably would have thrown you out, as most parents do.  In fact I... I almost did once or twice... mostly because Primal Pokemon have a natural survival instinct.  You could have done fine on your own and most parents never grow close to their primal children.  Tye was the one who helped me come to my senses; that wasn't right, and would have made us not any better than the rest... I was hesitant when we bought those Soothe Bells.  We had little luck with your twin, but you... you came around.  I'm not sure if you'll survive, but I became fond of you... I hope that you're ok, Alei.  I didn't think I would in the beginning, but I love you very much."

Tyler the Skitty

Paw Bullet (Light Blue) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Brown) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Purple) - F2U!

"Sigh... I hope you don't resent your father and I for our decision... it must seem cruel, forcing a newborn to travel across the land, without any sort of comforting or explanation... but so many Pokemon awaken without any parents at all.  I hope you realize that, and see the logic behind our actions.  Even so, you were able to survive, and keep up with us all the same.  I held you dear to me, even if I didn't show it as much as I should have.  You became so much like Blaize, and though you were young, you kept your father and I going, our spirit strengthened by your bravery.  I was at least lucky to have you and your brother with me after I was separated from your father, but when the Shadow Elites attacked again... you fought bravely by my side, but were knocked out quickly.  I could only stand there... are... are you dead? I'm not sure, but it must be... you're not moving... they're going to pay..."

Pecha the Skitty

Paw Bullet (Light Blue) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Brown) - F2U!/Paw Bullet (Purple) - F2U!

"I really felt bad for you... you're so timid.  You remind me a lot of your father when I first met him.  I was sure that there would be plenty of time to teach you to survive, just as I taught Tye, but then our family was separated again... and... and they found us... they... they won't defeat me! This is my family, and I won't let them die! No... no, I won't let them take you! Get your hands off my son! You can't have him! I won't... I................."
